Local-first
Run it on your computer, or on a small server of your own. Either way, the same SQLite store is yours: dated backups are copies of it, photos live as plain files beside it, and Settings exports the whole vineyard — records and photos — as one restorable zip.

It knows your dirt
VITISOS automatically pulls the BC soil survey — soil series, texture, drainage, even soil complexes like "Debeck 60 / Haynes 40" and where a boundary crosses your block. Every soil links to a full library card: classification, origin story, and links to the federal CanSIS profile and the official survey report.
Spray records
Entry stays fast: multi-block, per-block coverage, PHI and REI computed from the real product labels. The season audit report then gathers every application into one row each — dates checked against the label, drift flagged in a banner a certifier can read at a glance.
The record you kept all season becomes the report they ask for.
Phone scouting
Capture mode logs phenology, problems, photos, and GPS pin-drops from the rows. Photos remain plain files beside the store, and HTTPS hosting unlocks geolocation at the hosted origin. The phenology bar per block updates from real scouting, not guesswork.
Print-quality maps
Blocks colored by variety or by soil type on satellite imagery, auto-rotated to fit the page, with legend, scale bar, and north arrow. Growers have used these to correct decades-old acreage records — one found a leased vineyard about an acre smaller than the old map said, at $7,000 an acre in contract terms.
The builder
VITISOS was built by a working viticulturist in Summerland, BC — in the Okanagan Valley — who manages four vineyards and needed the tool to exist. Every feature exists because a real workday demanded it.
